International Journal of Business and Sustainable Economics (JBSE) is a peer-reviewed academic journal providing a scholarly outlet for researchers, academics, and policy-makers in the fields of economics, economic development, business, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. The journal places a significant focus on research concerning developing and transitional economies. We are committed to publishing rigorous, theoretically grounded, and empirically rich studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of the evolving dynamics in business and sustainable development.

JBSE operates under a Diamond Open Access model. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. There are no submission fees or article processing charges (APCs) for authors.

1. Submission Procedure
   • Electronic Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted via Editorial Manager, a fully web-based submission, peer-review, and tracking system. For New Authors, if you are submitting via this new system for the first time, you are first required to register. From this account created, you will be able to monitor your own submissions and make subsequent submissions.
   • Originality: Submission implies that the work is original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
   • Double-Blind Review: To facilitate double-blind peer review, please ensure the manuscript file is anonymized - remove all author names, institutional affiliations, and contact details from the main document.
   • Required Metadata: Authors will be asked to provide full contact details, ORCID iDs, and biographical information separately during the submission process.
   • AI Disclosure: Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript in accordance with World Scientific’s policy on authorship and AI.
2. Manuscript Preparation
   • Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in MS Word format. To ensure a smooth submission process and to minimize the likelihood of technical rejection, authors are encouraged to utilize the pre-submission technical check at https://preflight.paperpal.com before submitting their work to our portal. Please note that we do not require authors to adhere to a strict layout during the initial submission stage, as our professional production team will handle the final typesetting upon acceptance.
   • English Language: We follow standard American English spelling and style conventions. Authors must ensure consistent terminology throughout the manuscript.
   • Length: Articles should be between 7,000 and 10,000 words, inclusive of text, structured abstract (max 200 words), references, tables, and figures.
   • Abstract & Keywords: The manuscript must include a structured abstract (max 200 words) and up to five keywords.
   • Sections: Section headings should be numbered in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, etc.) while sub-section headings should follow the double numeration system (1.1, 1.2, etc.). All headings are to be left-aligned and in bold.
   • Illustrations: All figures and tables should be numbered in Arabic numerals, accompanied by titles, and supplied on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript. Figures must be of professional quality and be ready for reproduction.
   • References: In the text, references to publications should follow this convention: “Smith (1998) reported that” or “This problem was noted in previous studies (Taylor, 1995; Jones, 1992)”. A list of references is to be provided at the end of the text, in accordance with the following format:

     Cameron, A.C. and P.K. Trivedi (1991). The Role of Income and Health Risk in the Choice of Health Insurance: Evidence from Australia. Journal of Public Economics, 45, pp. 1-28.
     Brunner, K. and A.H. Meltzer (1990). Money Supply. In Friedman, B.M. and F.H. Hahn (eds.), Handbook of Monetary Economics, Vol. 1. North-Holland, Amsterdam.

     The author should ensure that there is a strict one-to-one correspondence between the names and years in the text and those on the list.

   • Mathematical Notations: All equations should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. Whenever possible, fractions should be expressed as x/y or x/(y+z) instead of .

It is mandatory for corresponding authors to provide their ORCID IDs in order to submit papers to this journal. ORCID iD is a unique identifier that helps in distinguishing you from other researchers with the same name and ensures that your research is attributed to you correctly. We encourage all authors to create their own ORCID ID and to include it in the manuscript before submission.
